Blink and you miss it. The junction is on the traffic lights. Luckily for me they were red. The staff were more interested in their phone call than me mainly because it was a friend.
Very helpful and friendly staff, without whom this two-star rating would have been one star. Firstly, the 'Luton-Dunstable' branch of Safestore is nowhere near Luton; it is on the far side of Dunstable. A closer look on the map would have revealed this in good time, but wouldn't have informed me of the poor facilities here. There is one lift only, which isn't fit for purpose. It opens on the opposite side on the first (and only) floor, which means that having loaded one's cargo on the ground floor, you are sunshine are required to clamber over it to open the door once upstairs. These doors are manual and heavy, requiring quite a shove. Not only is the lift too small, for a storage facility that will often be used for large furniture items, but the accordion doors take up precious space. The trollies provided also are too small and unsuitable for the largest pieces if furniture. Since using Safestore for the first time at the weekend, followed by The Self Storage Company for overflow stuff since then, I wish I'd have gone to SSC first.
