Beautiful countryside! There are great activities from various businesses, organisations and historic ones too. Facilities are plentiful if you use local businesses.Parking at the National Trust Gateway was free with our NT membership card. Otherwise, it costs 3.50 for the day. There was plenty of space. The NT Gateway shop and cafe was such a relief (2deg Celsius outside with winds coming up the hill). The team are so we coming and there is a great choice of food in the cafe - comfort food or the healthy stuff! I bought a National Trust passport so I can get a log of all the places visited. I didn't take many pictures cos it was sooo cold. There was plenty to take pictures of but my hands were too cold. We feel like we have barely explored the area and because the facilities are so good we'll be back in a few months.

Cafe is generally very busy and it may be me but choice of meals on few occasions I've been seem rather narrow including for kids. That said perfect as you would expect for kite flying and nice walk with great views so long as you wrap up warm as it's always windy. With kiddies as in my case it's a few hours of entertainment max. Also note it can get very busy so be prepared to queue for food maybe 10 to 15 mins. Does allow dogs in a marked section which is good I thought.

Nice place to visit with the family or walk the dogs, good distance from Dunstable so its not to much of a journey to get there. There is a little cafe which is rather overpriced but still nice and a little gift shop. A good place for people with children as they can fly kites and have a little picnic.

A refreshing walk across the downs is always a good thing. We wandered from the visitor centre to the most northern part overlooking the suburbs of Dunstable. Spent quite a while watching the paragliders and deciding whether we would be brave enough to have a go. Maybe. We queued up for a coffee in the visitor centre but gave up as the line was too long and there were no tables available. It's a popular place.

Home Fantastic views on a clear day. Paved walkway along the top of the Downs for everyone to enjoy the views and the fresh air. The visitor centre and quite reasonably priced. National Trust shop and cafe offering refreshments. The most enjoyable part of Dunstable!
